The project was the result of a request from school principal and teachers, the need for trees !!! so kids can play outside, or read, .. , especially in the dry season, when there is a blazing sun!

Last year the school of Tolotama, started a project with local partners (the environment department), to plant trees, and they manage to plant as much as 300 !!! but they didn't anticipate the action of animals that wander around as they please, looking for food ..., some of the trees were destroyed.
THE FIRST TREES PLANTED PREMIERS ARBRES PLANTÉS : 11 Flamboyant (Un arbre de la sous-famille Caesalpiniaceae, qui a été découvert au s.XIX siècle à Madagascar) (a tree that belong to a Caesalpinia-ceae family , was discovered in XIX century in Madagascar) 11 Citroniers / Lemon tree 11 Acacia 10 Jaques / Yacas (Artocarpus heterophyllus, famille des Moraceae qui font un fruit duquel on peut faire confiture) (Artocarpus heterophyllus, Moraceae family, produces a fruit which you can make jam) 10 Manguier grifé 11 Anacardes 11 Morenga

Another problem in Tolotama School: there is no power and therefore no light! Funding contribution: solar panels! The school participates from the project "Promotion of school exchange to promote the culture: lets know each other", which has donated four laptops to schools in Burkina, including the school of Tolotama To use the computer you need power! Instead, they now can plug to electricity obtained through solar panels! this greatly helps 6th grade students since they have to study hard, in the evenings, for the exam of CEP (Primary school certificate) |
